Constraints on Barrow Entropy from M87* and S2 Star Observations

چکیده

We use data from M87* central black hole shadow, as well the S2 star observations, in order to extract constraints on Barrow entropy. The latter is a modified entropy arising quantum-gravitational effects horizon, quantified by new parameter $\Delta$. Such change leads temperature, properties of and its shadow. investigate photon sphere shadow with entropy, assuming simple model for infalling radiating gas we estimate corresponding intensity. Furthermore, radius real part quasinormal modes, completeness spherical accretion matter onto hole, focusing isothermal polytropic test fluids. allowed region, applying Monte-Carlo-Markov Chains analysis find that $ \Delta \simeq 0.0036^{+0.0792}_{-0.0145}$. Hence, our results place upper bound $\Delta\lesssim0.0828$ at 1$\sigma$, constraint less strong than Big Bang Nucleosynthesis one, but significantly stronger late-time cosmological constraints.

Spins of the Supermassive Black Hole in M87: New Constraints from Tev Observations

The rapid TeV γ−ray variability detected in the well-known nearby radio galaxy M87 implies an extremely compact emission region (5 − 10 Schwarzschild radii) near the horizon of the supermassive black hole in the galactic center. TeV photons are affected by dilution due to interaction with the radiation field of the advectiondominated accretion flow (ADAF) around the black hole, and can thus be ...

New Constraints on Neutron Star Cooling from Chandra Observations of 3C58

3C58 is a young Crab-like supernova remnant. Historical evidence strongly suggests an association of the remnant with supernova SN 1181, which would make 3C58 younger than the Crab Nebula. Recent Chandra observations have identified the young 65 ms pulsar J0205+6449 at its center, embedded in a compact nebula which, we show here, appears to be confined by the pulsar wind termination shock. We p...

Constraints on the Star Formation Rate from Supernova Relic Neutrino Observations

We discuss the implication of the observation of supernova relic neutrinos on the study of the star formation rate in galaxies. The limit recently obtained at SuperKamiokande (SK) is already marginally significant, giving the limit that selective extinction of galaxies EB−V < 0.4, allowing for uncertainties in the model supernova neutrino flux. We argue that the increase of the SK statistics by...

Constraints on Neutron Star Properties from X-ray Observations of Millisecond Pulsars

We present model spectra and lightcurves of thermal emission from hot spots on the surface of a compact star with an unmagnetized light-element atmosphere. An application to X-ray observations of the nearest known rotation-powered millisecond pulsar (MSP) PSR J0437–4715 reveals that the thermal emission from this pulsar is fully consistent with such a model, enabling constraints on important pr...

Constraints on the Equation of State of Neutron Star Matter From Observations of Kilohertz QPOs

The frequencies of the highest-frequency kilohertz QPOs recently discovered in some sixteen neutron stars in low-mass X-ray binary systems are most likely the orbital frequencies of gas in Keplerian orbit around these neutron stars. If so, these QPOs provide tight upper bounds on the masses and radii of these neutron stars and important new constraints on the equation of state of neutron star m...
